What time should we arrive to the event?

You should plan to arrive on campus for check-in between Noon and 2 p.m. on the Thursday of your event. The event begins with mandatory workshops at 3 p.m. and ends Sunday at 11 a.m. with checkout at noon.

What is the nearest airport or train station?

We suggest traveling to Richmond International Airport which is about a 45 minute drive from the campus. There is also an Amtrak train station that is a one mile walk away from the dorm housing. The Newport News airport is about 30 minutes from the campus but is not an international airport.

Will you be providing a shuttle from the airport or train stations?

We do not offer this service at this time.

How many nights’ lodging are provided with my ticket?

Three: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are part of your purchased ticket.

Can players pay to stay an additional night at the dorms?

No, we only have access to the dorms Thursday through Sunday.

Will players be allowed to park at the William & Mary campus?

Yes. Parking is provided free of charge to players. The lots are near the dorms. You will be given a parking pass to display in your vehicle. We aren’t responsible if you park somewhere you shouldn’t or don’t display your pass and receive a ticket.

Will players have access to the gym on campus during the game?

No, that is not part of our arrangement.

Will players need to bring pillow/sheets/towels etc. for the nights spent in the campus dorms?

Yes, you will need to bring your own linens unless you purchase a $25 linens package. The linens package includes a set of twin XL sheets, a light blanket, a pillow, a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth. If you bring your own sheets, two flat sheets of any size may be better since the beds are twin XL.

Are there rules about what players may bring into the dorms?

Yes. No candles, fire, fog machines, or live animals are permitted in the dorms except for service animals. Any “pets” you choose to bring must be synthetic rather than organic. You may not cover the air-conditioning vents or sprinklers. Anything attached to the walls must be done with approved adhesive.

Can alcohol be consumed on campus?

For players who are ages 21 and over, alcohol may be consumed inside DuPont Hall and the dorms of the Botetourt Complex (where our House Common Rooms and some classrooms are). Alcohol may not be consumed in the open on campus, such as in the quad, in the forest, or walking to another building. Alcohol may not be consumed in the dining hall, or in the event spaces in the Sadler Center that we are using for all-school gatherings such as the house sorting ceremonies, graduation, and the Wizard Formals.

Where are the bathrooms/shower facilities in the dorms?

All rooms contain two twin XL beds, and each room shares one bath between them. You will share a bathroom with a maximum of three other people besides yourself.

What will the menu for the event look like?

All meals will take place in the college cafeteria, which has a wide variety of food available at every meal. For lunch and dinner, there is a full salad bar, a pasta bar, and a grill (with hamburgers, chicken fingers, french fries, etc), a sandwich bar, dessert bar, and many kinds of pizza. There are also hot entrees served at each meal, which include vegetarian options. All menu items have ingredients lists posted, and indicate if they are gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian or vegan. There is also a minimally-processed food station. You can learn more about the dining hall here

If you choose to attend the Graduation Dinner as an add-on, that will be a plated, catered event on china and crystal, with a choice of several meal options, including a vegetarian one.

Is it true there are desserts available at every meal?

Oh, yes.
